Postpartum Essentials

You’ve packed your hospital bag, set up the nursery, and folded and organized the baby’s clothes. But what about you? You are a crucial part of this equation. After all, you just nurtured and birthed another human for nine months! So as you are prepping for the baby, don’t forget to stock up on these postpartum essentials that will make those sleepless nights a little bit more bearable.

Below is a compilation of all the essential postpartum items I needed after a C-section and VBAC birth

Maxi pads

The hospital will give you some heavy-duty ones, but as the bleeding tapers down it’s nice to have a variety.

Nursing Pads

Whether you’re nursing or not, your boobs might be engorged and have some leaking. Always helpful to have some of these on hand to save your bras and shirts

Abdominal Binder

This was very very helpful after my C-section with my first. I wasn’t prepared for the recovery at all. Laughing, coughing, and moving were really strenuous for the first couple of weeks. I remember I could barely go for a walk without my binder on. Serious lifesaver!

Colace

No one needs to strain to 💩 whether you had a vaginal birth or C-section. Everything is so sore, raw, and tender. You’ll thank me for this one.

Peri Bottle

I brought my own both times and this one seemed way better than the one they provided. Each time I filled it up with warm water and it helped significantly.

Sitz Bath

Struggling to sit in a comfortable position? This bath was such a relief and gave me a couple of moments of peace to myself.

Disposable Undies

No need to ruin your regular undies. Plus you’ll want something loose and full coverage

Pair these with a maxi pad ice pack lined with tucks pads and OMG the angels just descended from heaven.

You’ll thank me later!
