  • Pom Tree Push

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • draw or cut paper to make the shape of a Christmas tree

    • glue on top of the box

    • cut small holes on the tree shape

    • use pom poms to push into the holes

    • great for fine motor work and understanding cause and effect!

  • Gingerbread Play Dough

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • combine flour, oil, and cinnamon in a bowl until mixed

    • PSA: this is a messy one!

    • use cookie cutters or rollers to roll out the gingerbread (just for play of course!)

    • perfect for imagination and creativity

    • works well for sensory integration needs

  • Tree Drop

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • cut a large triangle out of cardboard for the tree-shape

    • color or paint the triangle green

    • then cut two smaller triangles out of cardboard

    • for the tree stand, hot glue the bottom of the triangles to the back of the tree (essentially, you are making two stands so the tree can be freestanding)

    • draw several circles on the front of the large triangle

    • use an X-Acto knife to cut them out

    • push balls through the holes to develop an understanding of cause/effect and work on gross motor skills

  • Reindeer Ornaments

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • paint your child’s handprints on white paper with brown paint

    • cut and mount the handprints on brown construction paper

    • print and cut out your child’s face and glue in the center of the hands

    • add a red-nose

    • hole punch the top. of the ornament and tie with a ribbon

    • makes a great holiday gift!

  • Snowpeople Ornaments

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • cut out a snowman shape out of black paper

    • then cut out a smaller white snowman shape and glue it on top

    • cut out your little one’s face and glue it to the top

    • feel free to add a scarf out of construction paper and buttons/arms using a marker

    • hole punch the top. of the ornament and tie with a ribbon

    • makes a great holiday gift!

  • Menorah Handprints

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • paint your child’s handprints with blue paint and press on to white paper

    • have them dot their fingertips with yellow paint above each finger for the candle flames

    • cut out a menorah shape out of construction paper and glue the handprints on top

  • Menorah Scavenger Hunt

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • use blue construction paper to roll a cylindrical shape for the candle and staple it together

    • glue a yellow flame shape to the top of the candle

    • use painter’s tape to hide the candles around the room!

    • makes for an entertaining inside activity on cold or rainy days

  • Kwanzaa Corn

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • cut out a corn cob shape out of white paper

    • spread yellow paint over a plate or tray

    • lay bubble wrap over the paint and press it onto the white paper

    • cut out two corn husk shapes out of green paper and glue on top

  • Kwanzaa Fruit Match

    MATERIALS

    DIRECTIONS

    • put one piece of fruit in each bag

    • take turns making matches

    • even our youngest friends can do this

    • helps with drawing conclusions and comparing/contrasting
