potty training

  • cleaning supplies

There was SO much pee and poop everywhere so brace yourself! On the floor, on the rug, on the couch, etc., etc. We used our cleaning spray, old rags, and paper towels. I am the biggest advocate for Force of Nature because it’s an all-natural disinfectant that is free of harsh chemicals and so much better for the environment. It has a steep initial upfront cost, but it is so worth it!

  • loose pants

The tighter they feel, the more they will associate the feeling with peeing or pooping in a diaper. Hence the no undies thing until way later. I ordered a bunch of extra pairs in a size up for an extra loose fit.

  • travel potty cover

I absolutely love this cover because it’s super compact. It folds into fours and comes in a handy carrying case. It’s great for public bathrooms allowing your little one to sit comfortably and not put their bum on toilet seat.

  • little potty

They do not recommend toilet seats that fit over the adult-size toilet. Reason why? If they need to get to the potty in a hurry they really don’t have time to climb up a step stool and do their business. We ended up splurging on two potties. One for the upstairs and one for the downstairs. We also kept the potty very close in proximity in those early days.

  • foamy soap

It’s more fun to wash with a few bubbles right?

  • travel potty

I LOVE having a little potty in the back of the car. It comes in handy when you’re somewhere without a public bathroom like a playground or if you JUST buckled them in the car seat and have to run back into the store.

  • travel potty liners

The best thing about this travel potty is that you don’t have to clean it after. Just simply close up the bag and throw it away!

  • potty books

Some of our favorites focus on the process of going to the potty, the feeling, and the various steps.

  • sleep undies

In the “Oh Crap!” they do have a chapter on night training. But let’s be honest, sleep TRUMPS potty training. For now, they will wear pull ups which they call “sleep undies” ONLY for naps and bedtime. I do like the Millie Moon training pants. They’re good quality, free of harsh chemicals, and are reasonably priced!
